Here I found highly qualified teachers in every Yoga field. Each subject has been clearly explained and the whole program was well distributed along the 200 hours TTC. The focus was in both the practical and theoric aspects of Yoga, and thank to some trips which has been organised in Agra and Rishikesh, we have been able to experience several aspects of the Indian culture.
The Ajarya team is composed by people who really love Yoga and who made of it a lifestyle.
Each of us has been strongly supported in his own progress and the small size of the class made possible to build up a familiar and confidential atmosphere, without loosing the professional relationship between students and teachers.
The food we had was simple and delicious, kindly in line with the Yogic lifestyle.
In a couple of occasions we have been pleased with sweet surprises like icecream and chocolate by our teachers.
In Ajarya we have also had the opportunity of celebrating the birthday of one of us. This just contributed to increase the friendship with the teachers.
Kindness, preparation, patience and openmindness are just example of what I found in each member of the Ajarya team.
Now that I've just come back home I already miss all of them, but I'm sure we will keep in touch, anyway.
After this experience I feel more focused, more relaxed and definitely ready to pass to my future students all that I learnt in Ajarya.

On the other side when I was feeling weak/ warn out, Narendra and ammu both were incredibly supportive- it was soo appreciated- I liked to hear from them that we are ok to ask again and again- this made them both very approachable.
Ammu always had a suggestion (that worked) when I was struggling with my health. She also went beyond necessary to show us around and accommodate what the whole group wanted out of class.

Ammu teacher was amazing. She cared for every one of us. Showed us around and spent a lot of time with us.
Narendra Teacher was also great. He pushed us a lot when it was needed. Our group size of 7 was good. The smaller the group the better.

Ammu was a delight to have as a teacher- she showed interest in us as individuals and went out of her way to make personal connections with each of us. She was extremely flexible in how we learn best and took time to understand our needs.
Although we were pushed to our limit, we gained a great amount of physical and mental strength. Practical sessions were useful and insightful could have used more for teaching methods and adjustments.
I feel extremely knowledgeable in Pranayama+meditation. Thank You.

The size of our group was perfect. We could all develop a good relationship with Ammu. The course content was very well rounded with all relevant topics included and the anatomy lessons were very interesting. It was a great chance for us all to develop our confidence by teaching each other.

The teachers are so great welcoming and I felt at home very quickly. The course itself is intense but rewarding and highly enjoyable an well as challenging I have learned so much more than I expected, the whole experience exceeded my expectations and I’m sad it has come to an end for now!.

Thoroughly interesting, enlightening, and eye opening experience. I felt that the teachers were so dedicated, with great knowledge and wisdom at their inbuilt. I loved my time with Ajarya and would do 300 more hours if I could! Yoga Teachers were so incredibly kind, caring, and knowledgeable. I came to India to learn the traditional roots of yoga and that was exactly what I received. The teachers were so knowledgeable, sincere, sincere, humble, kind, sensitive, caring, genuine individuals. They gave so much of themselves, in a way that was so clear and vivid. I wish Swami ji had taught a lot more. He is truly a gift with whom our entire class felt so connected. I am so happy I chose this program. The equal emphasis given to the philosophical, spiritual, anatomical, historical and pragmatic application of yoga were in perfect balance. This program was so well done and inevitably life changing. This program was great! As a beginner in yoga, this class brought me up to speed quickly and confidently. Extremely friendly staff.

All of these were taught, but I think they could have been emphasized and practiced more. Much of The adjustments, safety application were left to the students during afternoon sessions.

I thoroughly enjoyed this program and thanks to the guidance from the teachers I can now confidently teach Ashtanga Yoga Teacher’s dedication and teaching abilities are truly admirable. He should be praised for his continuous efforts. Swami Ji, Sandeep and Dr. Sumit are all wonderful teachers and mentors. The quality of the teaching staff makes Ajarya a wonderful school.

My experience at Ajarya was excellent. I feel that all the relevant teaching and yoga material was thoroughly good. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to improve their own practice or teaching.

The Team at Ajarya are highly skilled in the field of Yoga. Everyone was so open and friendly in sharing their knowledge and all the training has really deepened my yoga practice and prepared me to share these teachings with future students. The program exceeded my expectations and it was truly a life changing experience.

I thought the staff was excellent. Everyone was highly qualified in their area and I got a lot of take a ways from the training. I think I am somewhat ready to teach because I still need to do some more practicing, but the team definitely gave me all the knowledge to get there. As far as the manual goes, I think what might be helpful would be to include a written explanation of all the adjustments and also sample class plans that may vary from the primary series. Also, the accommodations were adequate but it might be helpful to mention to students regarding bringing any ice packs or hot packs for sore muscles because it is not something you can get here. Also, the food started becoming a bit monotonous after awhile, but it was always made well.

"I am very happy I chose Ajarya: a school which may not be the most popular school in Rishikesh, yet, but it only adds to the quality of my experience. Why?

1. The tuition fee was reasonable, it was lower than in other, possibly more famous, schools.
2. I was able to learn in a small group, I was able to get to know the teachers and other students.
3. Teachers were always eager to help and explain whatever concerns I might have had.
4. I had enough time to practice teaching, leading pranayama, relaxation and meditation (which probably won’t be possible in a group of, let’s say, 25 people)
5. This course certainly wasn’t a mass teacher production. We could all feel, I believe, that we are treated as people and potential teachers, not as anonymous clients who no one cares about after they paid their tuition.

My advice is: try your best not to lose it. Keep this attitude of treating every new group as a new adventure and a chance for you to grow and develop. Treat them individually and keep caring about them. Don’t turn into a factory producing teachers in batches of 25 or 30 people.

I do hope people who come here in a year or two will experience same hospitality and care as I did.

"There are many schools of yoga, in many countries, especially in the UK where I live. If you want a real ‘Indian’ perspective of yoga, modern and ancient, then it would be hard to beat Ajarya. Equal weight is given to every aspect of the 8 limbs (of Patanjali) so by the time the course ends you will know about YOGA and not just about asana with a bit of pranayama as do many yoga students and practitioners in the west, me included before the course. Modern Astanga Vinyasa practice of asana is at the core of the teaching, though not exclusively, so it will support you if you have a knowledge and practice in the Astanga primary series. In addition, the single room accommodation is good, and there are two practice rooms, one on the roof with beautiful views of the Himalayan foothills. There is an Ayurveda spa in the hotel with good quality (and fair priced) Panchakarma massage and treatments available to smooth away excess aches."

"I think it should be more time for self study in the beginning it would be good to have some time to read in. I miss having a female teacher I think it could be good with a gender balance. I think Yoga Teachers are doing a great job, spreading energy or an eagerness to learn more. The book (the one you made) should correspond more to the lectures. I think the opening ceremony should be better planned, with more explanation and may be by the Ganges’.
The program at Ajarya is intense, well planned and with very competent teachers. It's a personal and familiar atmosphere. Accommodation and good is excellent. I feel well prepared to start teaching after termination"

I had a great experience here and developed so much spiritually, emotionally and physically. I am grateful to have such good guidance for all my future yoga classes and to have had such caring, kind and dedicated instructors here. I feel I have come so far in my asana practice in the past month and also really understand the yoga habits and I am confident going forward that I will be able to incorporate them into my life. I am also grateful that coming from a westernized yoga background, I was able to learn from very traditionally-based teachers and understand the benefits of carrying those traditions down through the ages. The Yoga Teacher is certainly an expert at the subject matter. Organisation and transfer made us feel safe. Side trip to Agra brough India to us to and us to the rich culture and history of India. Side trip to Beatles Ashram and rafting on the Ganges and Taj Mahal wer highlights of my life! Rooftop studio is lovely. Staff at Kitchen crew are outstanding

Thank you for a great time and a great education. I really felt taken care of through the whole program, everything from first contact to accommodation to teaching, to free time (such as visiting sights, going to the doctor and getting a surprise party for my birthday) really was well arranged and high quality.

The main teacher was extremely open to our suggestions and took them into consideration whenever possible. In one occasion I suggested that it would be good to study the Bhavgabad Gita and within 24 hours he organized a fabulous teacher to come in and talk to us about the it. This class was hugely inspirational for me and I would always be grateful to him for that. I have also learnt a lot from his humble approach and respect and love for yoga. The pranayama and meditation teacher, was very inspirational for me also. I have learnt not only simple techniques of pranayama and meditation, appropriate to my level of experience, but more importantly I have learnt how important it is as a practice and it will now form part of my daily yoga practice alongside asanas. The ‘visiting’ teacher we had for the Gita was incredible, a gem really. I would be amazing if he can be employed, alongside Lead Teacher, to cover some of the areas of the course relevant to yoga philosophy.

The setting of the course was excellent. The staff at the hotel is really nice, food is ok, and the yoga shala is good also. It has being a great experience for me as a whole to stay in Rishikesh for 4 weeks, and hope to get the chance to came back in the future. Thank you.
