We share a special bond with many Ashrams including the Ashrams in Rishikesh. This special spiritual bonding allows our students guided visits to these exalted Ashrams! As part of our yoga teacher training courses, our students participate in a Karma Yoga Project centered around these Ashrams and in Rishikesh community.
Karma Yoga is the path of action, where we convert all our actions in to Yoga. As we participate in a group activity, we lose the relevance of the self and unify with a larger whole. Karma Yoga introduces concepts of inertia, action and elevated actions. As we grow further, Karma Yoga helps deal with various conflicts that we experience in our day-to-day transactions. As we continue, we can experience higher levels of Karma Yoga and work in tune with the cosmic law. Karma yoga leads us to selfless actions and helps us to grow out of our selfish being, eventually liberating us from this life and merging us with the supreme. Yujyate Anena iti yogah or Yoga is that which joins!
Ajarya Teachers have collated content to give a brief introduction to some of the Ashrams in Rishikesh. Please feel free to understand the functioning of each Ashram, the traditions followed by them, their daily activities, their founding Gurus, their history and other points of interest.
